These two trees in a foggy Clay Head field just reminded me of a dancing pair.
The island has been blossoming throughout April and May. Here’s a selection of my favourites…
Arboretum, St Johns
Archibald Knox’s Garden, Douglas
The Rose Garden, Laxey
I do have a habit of returning to locations to check out the view and take the same photograph. I couldn’t forget the vivid scarlet of this tree along Clay Head Road. I took this photograph today but when I walked here a couple of weeks ago, the leaves were quite dull and lifeless.

I wandered through Laxey Glen today. A wonderful crunch underfoot and beautiful colours. When autumn arrives, I always think it’s my favourite season, but then I say that about the other three, even winter after last year’s long and harsh slog. If you’re reading this from somewhere that has really, really harsh winters, I apologise as I know we’re drama queens over here!
I never got to see Quills and Kate but the first two photographs were taken in their (a pair of Porcupines) enclosure at Curragh’s Wildlife Park.
