It’s that time of year again when the cold, windy, wet weather has started to wear very thin and I’m dreaming about travel and a warm climate. I published some Greek posts last year but for some reason I missed out Corfu Town with it’s beautiful architecture and charm.

Happy New Year!
The Laxey red telephone box could be granted a last-minute reprieve from being removed from the village.
A sign was placed in the phone box in December advising that it would be removed, along with a few others dotted around the island. The boxes could remain if the Local Authorities step in to pay for ongoing maintenance.
For now, the Laxey phone box remains in situ but its future is under consideration.
Watch this space! Er, I don’t mean an empty space where the box is. It won’t be the same without this part of our heritage. Please save it!

Weekly photo challenge: Let there be light!
I visited MOSI (The museum of Science and Industry) in Manchester this week. Really interesting and innovative exhibitions so it’s really worth a visit if you’re ever in that neck of the woods – plus entry is free. I’m sure I’ll post some photographs on this in the future but one of the most lasting memories of the visit will be the stunning shards of light beaming and bouncing around the museum.

Normally, I run the gauntlet through this section of the park as the emus roaming free can be intimidating but on this day, they seemed quite chilled.
