Spotifly

These are 5 Spot Burnett Moths that I spotted in Herm Island in June. Here in the Isle of Man, I’ve only ever seen the 6 Spot version.

Lovely images, Jackie.
I can’t help but be drawn to unfamiliar ‘faces’ too, but I’m usually too slow moving to capture them in a photo.

Thank you Sabrina, I see you have the Six Spots too in Wales like us here in the IOM. I think the 5 spots are further south.

Thanks Carol. I’ve normally seen a few more by this time of the year but they seem rare this year in the IOM. Herm was bursting with them though!
