Icy Snaefell
It’s been cold here on the Island but we’ve not had much snow or ice on the mountain recently. I took this photograph from Axnfel last January when it was much colder.
Agni in Corfu
Booking a table for dinner at the lovely Taverna Agni, allowed us a free return boat trip from Kalami to Agni. The food, atmosphere and scenery was stunning. It was so beautiful that we walked here from Kalami one day and spent a few hours soaking up the atmosphere. Agni is apparently a favourite place for the rich and famous who arrive in their yachts and dine in the restaurants. I don’t normally go in for this kind of thing but Agni is so unspoilt and unpretentious.
Wild mountain goats
Whilst walking along the beach this morning, I spotted something moving on the hillside and I soon realised that the wild goats have returned to Laxey. Light and visibility has been poor today so apologies for the quality of the images. Hopefully, they’ll stick around for a few days as it’s one of my challenges to get a good photograph of the goats. This may mean that I have to walk along the pathway in better light but I am a chicken. I posted some photographs in August last year when I last spotted them. I suspect they have been around more frequently but are really well camouflaged.
New Years Day – Axnfel
The view from Ballannette showed the mountain in light so I took a 5 minute drive into the hills to another of my favourite locations, Axnfel.

My New Years day first pit stop was the beach and once the sun rose, the light was lovely. Ballannette and Axnfel pit stops to follow.

Black headed gulls skimming the waves to look for food.
Oystercatchers
I was pleased to get close to a flock of oystercatchers this morning. My all time favourite wader!
It was a pastel sky at sunrise this morning with fairly rough sea and crashing waves.
