Weekly photo challenge: One shot, two ways
Billie don’t be a hero! This is one of the young mountain goats that I saw grazing on the hillside in Laxey yesterday evening.
This week’s challenge can be found here http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/08/09/one-shot-two-ways
Wild mountain goats
Whilst walking along the beach this morning, I spotted something moving on the hillside and I soon realised that the wild goats have returned to Laxey. Light and visibility has been poor today so apologies for the quality of the images. Hopefully, they’ll stick around for a few days as it’s one of my challenges to get a good photograph of the goats. This may mean that I have to walk along the pathway in better light but I am a chicken. I posted some photographs in August last year when I last spotted them. I suspect they have been around more frequently but are really well camouflaged.
Vertical Limit
The fearless death-defying mountain goats appear in a flock on the Laxey hillside a few times during the year. The pathway gets quite busy with walkers but the goats just keep a low profile and maintain a close distance to their flock. Sometimes there are a couple of stags keeping watch at the top of the hill.
