Garwick Bay

Garwick Bay Garwick Bay2 Garwick Bay6 Garwick Bay5 Garwick Bay3 Garwick Bay4 Garwick Bay7 Garwick Bay8

I wandered down to Garwick Bay on Sunday. It’s a secret, secluded little bay, next one along from Laxey heading south. It’s about a ten minute walk from the coast road, down a steep, bumpy, windy road. Lots of ancient trees, many sea birds (although I didn’t photograph any) and not another soul in sight! It’s an odd, lonely little place now but I can imagine years ago it was a bustling fishing bay.

Reality blog award

Reality blog award

Sallyann at Photographic Memories  http://hallysann.wordpress.com  kindly nominated me last week for this award. Check out Sallyann’s wonderful photographs and memories – guaranteed to make you smile!  To help me answer the 5 questions, I added some photographs from my archives. Sorry! I’ve bent the rules.

For the award, there are rules to be followed:-

The first rule is that you must thank the person who nominated you and leave a link back to their blog.  So my thanks to Sallyann for nominating me.

The second rule is to answer the five award questions …

          1.  If you could change one thing, what would it be ?

I’d change peoples’ attitudes to energy use and recycling. We’ve still got a long way to go to make a real difference.

Hope

          2. If you could re-live one day, which would it be ?

Any simple, no frills day that involves my loved ones and my precious view of Laxey beach.

   Relive the day

        3. What’s one thing which really scares you ?

I’m scared of heights. Correction, I’m scared of falling from a great height and expiring before my time.

Fear

Graveyard in fog

          4. What’s one dream you have not completed yet and do you think you’ll be able to complete it ?

I’d love to learn to play a musical instrument really well but this would involve lots of practice and I doubt I have any natural musical ability. My family members and the cat (who covers her ears with her paws when I sing) are not so keen to encourage me.  My dream may become a nightmare for others.

Busker

          5. If you could be someone else for the day who would you be ?

This is a difficult one.  I thought of Tenzing Norgay as maybe then we’d know the truth about the first man to reach the summit of Everest or even David Attenborough as he’s had such a wonderful life as a naturalist but I think it would have to be a bird not a person. I’d be free to roam, not scared of heights and have some amazing vantage points over the landscape.

Wings

Finally, I have to add my own nominations for The Reality Award.

Nominate four other bloggers to pass the award onto …

          In no particular order …

February Laxey sunrise sequence

Yesterday’s sunrise was unusual as it started with ugly little black clouds that absorbed the redness of the sun.  Once the sun had started to rise, the fire cooled down and the sky became cool and subdued. Half moon still out and visible and greater visibility than on an average day as I could see the Cumbrian hills on the UK mainland (my true home land). It all lasted about an hour finishing with a colourless sky in the final photographs. Click on the gallery and join me as I walk along the beach!
